Scope and Function of Human Resources
Under the direction of the Vice President, Human Resources, Human Resources oversees the District's workforce and employee programs and has responsibility for the following functions:
Human Resources Operations:
-
recruitment and induction of personnel;
- salary placement;
- assessment of academic employee minimum qualifications;
- leaves of absences;
- professional growth and development increments.
Employer-Employee Relations:
-
ensuring that personnel policies and practices are in compliance with federal and state nondiscrimination and equal opportunity statutes and regulations;
- processing and responding to complaints related to discrimination and sexual harassment;
- negotiations;
- administrative hearings, grievance and discipline procedures;
- provision of interpretation and guidance to administrators and others in areas of negotiated agreements, board policies and administrative procedures.
