ABOUT THE COVID-19 TESTS: PCR and Antigen tests both detect the virus in different ways. PCR tests are more accurate because they can detect small amounts of the virus. They require a lab’s analysis and results are usually returned to campus after about 24 hours. The Antigen tests provide results in about 15 minutes, but they are not as accurate as PCR tests. Antigen tests are especially useful for people who are COVID-19 positive and need to determine if they are no longer contagious.
